Healthy Chocolates in SA

I've made my own a few times with coconut milk, raw cacao, honey and raw cashew nuts.
Easy to make, tastes great and with only a spoon full of honey per 200g, it doesn't contain much sugar either.
Except honey is sugar

Firstly you cannot get addicted to sugar, it's not a drug and no don't go quoting those articles that show it lights up the same pathways as cocaine it's BS, anything pleasurable lights up the same pathways. Also a lot of people who like chocolate actually don't like any other sweet things. I love chocolate, but I don't drink any sugar in my coffee, don't eat any other sweet things.

I was speaking generally, most people say they are addicted to chocolate usually eat the Cadbury crap which has very little actual chocolate.

Sugar "addiction" is actually due to a person's gut bacteria, they release hormones to get people to crave sugar.

It is not a reaction to sugar. Cholesterol seems to be a reaction to low Vitamin D. Quite logical as it's a precursor so your body will make more if there's a deficiency and Vitamin D also often results in it going down. Unless it's abnormally high it's not dangerous by itself but rather an indication that something else is wrong. Vitamin D is also a factor is weigh gain and insulin resistance so he should have his levels checked.

Most plaques actually consist more of calcium and not cholesterol.
Cholesterol is used in cell formation and repair, having a blood cholesterol may be an indication of how much cell damage is occurring

Not so simple. Addiction is not the same a dependence. Dependence is a biological reaction. Sugar causes little dependence but does cause a temporary low afterwards. Addiction is an emotional inability to handle withdrawal or life circumstances. Mainstream science has routinely conflated the two.

Cholesterol is used in lots of processes. Could be an indication of damage or it could rather be an indication of another factor which influences both cholesterol and damage.

I've also tried the sugar-free milk chocolate from Clicks. If you didn't tell me it was sugar-free, I would never have guessed.

That being said there are other ways to lose weight... I'd sooner cut out carbs than a couple of pieces of choc a day - the trick is moderation

(geezus I sound like my mother)

Milk chocalate will still contain sugar so watch those ( part of the lactose ). It would be imposible to be truly sugar free. Dark choc is differant.

Get Lindt 85% dark chocolate. I've been happily guzzling a slab per week for the last decade or so.
