HEITA(8ta) - Billing Nightmare!!!!

If you're thinking of porting to or joining Heita(8ta),hold your horses!!!

Their prepaid billing system does not even work properly.For some weird reason,the airtime balance on my number drops to R0.00 about 3 or 4 times during the day for a few hours,even though i should have a + balance.Then after a few hours the balance on my airtime miraculously appears again.Its annoying and frustrating as !@%$:twisted: The call centre admits that they have a massive problem with many subscribers,this has been going on for almost a month.

The worst part is,8ta airtime purchases are not available 24 hours/day,you cannot buy airtime electronically,so if they slap you with a R0.00 balance for no reason,you cant buy airtime from online banking or an atm.You have to wait till 9am to buy from Telkom,Cna,Edgars,Jet,etc.

So if you need to send a text,check email or browse,you just have to wait until they decide to restore your balance.

I for one expected better from 8ta.

I was considering porting at the end of next month when my contract expires.

Forget about it now.

never had that problem ever with my 8ta simcard sure that yours isn't defective?

same with experience with telkom dsl apart from minor cable fix

Have had the same problem, have like R31 then R0. The free sms deal where you are charged for the first four or whatever seems defective as well cause been charged for those as well. Not being able to buy airtime everywhere sucks and the coverage is bad. Sometime just cant make calls or send sms. Or cant receive anything at all for hours. Randomly the signal just drops to nothing for awhile. I stay in a big city this shouldn't be a issue. My advice to anyone thinking of 8ta, don't do it. At least not for 6months to see if they stabilize.
