Hi

As title says , i have the keys f3 to dim and f4 to increase backlit but its not working..

Using FN key , everything else works using the Fn key on the keyboard just the backlit function is not working

1.The manual says it can be used.
2.Tired of reading Youtube about pressing FN and using F4 button ..it dsnt work but suppose to .
3.Asus Website says i must remove Cmos or change software..i dnt know sound complicated to ckech for various models
4.Redditt has solution but must use a Unkwown Private 3rdparty software not keen for security reasons
5.Some Asus has variants of the same model as this as per Asus website etc.

Is their another solution ?
Thanks and soforth

Has it always worked?
Is this a 2nd hand laptop that you just got?

Maybe its busted or you are lacking a driver.
Have you checked the BIOS? Maybe its disabled there.

Hi Work laptop ..only worked once..then never bothered again..im thinking drivers but its got latest Windows 11 Pro and all drivers up to date as for as Windows 11..i hvnt check Bios what should i look for ? Device manager-Keyboard?

From Microsoft:

Enable the backlight by pressing Fn and F4 keys (Fn+F4) at the same time. Pressing the Fn+F4 continuously increases the brightness of the keyboard backlight; while pressing the Fn+F3 keys continuously decreases the brightness and ultimately disables the backlight.

Also, try turning off the laptop, disconnecting it from mains power, and then taking out the battery as well for about an hour, then put the battery back in again, reconnect to mains power, and power it up again & see if that has cleared the problem for you & re-enabled the backlight keys functionality.
