5.2secs is rather good hey. Consistent

Just a few short yrs ago that was BMW M Cars territory

It is pretty good. The consistency on the other hand is a bit odd; especially when you see the vagaries of same-model cars when you look at a number of road tests for the same vehicle in different countries/publications.

Funnily enough, I was just reading a magazine recently where they tested the Audi TT S and put in print they were "surprised" at the 0-100 kph time. Let me find out which, and I will quote directly.

But very true - it's these new launch control systems that make a big difference as well. As adamr was frothing to point out, my m235i is not a "proper" M car - but just look at these 0-100 times I am quoting from:

CAR magazine; issue Jan 2016; page 101

E30 M3 - 6.9sec (1985)

E36 M3 - 6.34sec (1994)

E46 - 5.48sec (2001)

E90 - 5.18sec (2009)

F80 - 4.25sec (2015)

Ok, it's the same CAR magazine; Jan 2016 issue; Audi TTS Coupe 2,0T FSI S Ttronic; Page 88:

"..despite the presence of 210kW and a launch control function...we were somewhat surprised to record a very quick 4,93 second 0-100km/h sprint"

About time they start noticing these "odd" discrepancies...

OMG I can't read through the last few pages to see what the argument is about ...

What's the summary?
M235i is quicker and a better buy than a Golf R?

Nah I think both of them have backed off / ignoring ... but I'm just curious on the summary
