Help! Audi S3 or VW Golf R?

Just now a black A45 with big red wing went past.

Clearly aftermarket exhaust; that thing just pops & crackles loud...very unfamiliar 4-cylinder sound

There is an optional sport exhaust that can be fitted when you buy the car , it does exactly what you described when you floor it .
If you take it easy it is not loud and does not crackle and pop .

I was in the same boat as you. .. and bought the 7R brand new from vw. Had it for a year and a half and 14000km later sold it for R5000 less than what I paid new (insane resale ). I now have an A45 AMG Edition 1 (the limited edition version ) and ... the golf in my opinion is the better car (even though the a45 is much quicker, sounds insane.... everything is not about speed, the golf is plenty fast and it executes everything perfectly).

The s3 is more expensive new ... but will depreciate more than the golf no doubt. Buy the golf ... it's a no brainer. There was absolutely no issues that i had with the car.

In all journalist reviews the golf comes on top in its segment. And I agree it's best in its class (I have owned and driven allot of cars ... trust me on the golf)

Option that is a must is DCC ... make sure to tick that box

Hmmm I find this interesting. Are we talking trade-in or private sale here?

His a BM driver but I think he is still a Vag-lover...

Of course. Aren't they all ?

I posted some nice pics above & no comment(s) from you

They were just pics? And you posted them as yourself? And you didn't post stuff from your inbox as yours? (whether or not this was a prior agreement...) :)

(also denying point blank that I sent you a pm - which we both know makes you a complete liar)

Once again, I have permission to relay PMs, but without direct quotes. If you disagree, report me so that the mods can investigate, and ban me if I did not have permission.

That was not the issue dude. I will get back to that later.

But, I have called you a blatant liar twice - and you have not even tried to defend yourself. Or did you report me with no effect?

Actually, previously I was giving you an option to quietly fade into the background. But you don't seem to learn.

Anyway - this one example below was showing you that the m235i auto would be quicker in 0-100kph than the Golf 7 R. Which, in my view, equates to the BMW out-launching. Somehow you ignored it...

Just in the meantime, as I really need to do some more investigation, I have the following tests from the same publication.

http://www.iol.co.za/motoring/cars/bmw/m235i-is-a-rip-snorting-tar-scorcher-1.1713791#.VmqKSEp97cs

http://www.iol.co.za/motoring/cars/...lf-r-has-that-x-factor-1.1671344#.VmqK3Ep97cs

They both have identical times of 5.2 seconds. The R was an auto though and the BMW a manual, so one would expect a quicker time from a BMW auto..

Having said that, I've grown tired of your disingenuous character. Let me post some more times. Be back soon, honey.

Ok, 0-100kph specs:

Topcar magazine as tested:

m235i manual - 5.44s
Golf auto - 5.26s

car magazine as tested:

m235i manual - 5.40s
Golf auto - 5.23s

Ok. So from the above we have established that the detuned Golf 7R in SA is remarkably consistent at about 5.2s. Unfortunately none of the SA tests for the BMW mentioned above used the auto, and therefore only the manual times are mentioned.

So we go search a bit more.....

So some other 0-100 kph times for the BMW:

(interesting comments here about the what might have happened if the BMW had an auto gearbox)

Notice the comments about the auto-box.....

Maybe I could go on. But the point is made.

Next installment, in time to come, will be me examining your integrity....
