The thread title seems so familiar all of a sudden ... oh well.

Scenario: Network printers at the office, connected to PC, shared via the domain. So I have a printer mapped (Samba) to the shared printer on the domain. The domain pasword expires every month. Now, initially to get it to work, I set up the printer using the ADVANCED settings, which forces the domain and password (hardcoded if you want to call it that).

This morning my password expired, and it was changed. Now where can I change the hardcoded password for the printer, without deleting and creating a new printer?

Nope, it is not in the keychain. When you set up a printer using the advanced settings, you can include the password/domain during the setup. something like:

smb://domain@user:pwd/sharedpc/printer ... but I don't know how to view this string again, apart from deleting the printer and creating a new one

This is still on the MBP, right? ;)
Have you tried a reboot? I know of similar occurences on M$ in the same scenario.
It normally relates to caching credentials but don't know if MAC does the same. ;)
/shrug :)

Did you try the cups interface?

Yeah, I know ... but that won't help me anything, or would it?! *Tum ta tam*

You can configure the printer there. Presumably that would include the password.
