Help: CS4 - How to make a layer transparent/opaque?

Im trying to make a layer semi-see through (opaque/transparent?). HTF do I do that, been trying for half an hour now.

Pls help.

click on the layer (select it) and then click transparency. You have to select it even if you are working in it, otherwise it won't change. Hope it makes sense.

There is a slider called Opacity.
Just decrease its value.
And the image will become transparent.

Make sure the layer is selected and then adjust the Opacity. See Screenshot

I'd suggest "Software"... The general population of posters in this forum will reply in curly-braces and semi-colons...

Ya a lot of designers use Photoshop for creating Graphics for Web Sites, especially with the image cut tools
