Yes, was going to suggest what biometrics said. Also, after removing the motherboard from the case, remove the CPU and RAM from the motherboard as well and then after re-installing the CPU and RAM do a bench test first.

Also regarding your GFX card: It does not require that much power as it relies entirely on the PCI-e slot for it's power draw. The problem may be related to your PSU. Wattage is one thing but AMP's also play a big role. Depending on which rail is being used there may not be enough AMP's to power your board, chip and GPU and can lead to all sorts of strange problems. Can you post the specification information regarding your PSU?

Do you know someone with a motherboard where you can test your PSU, GPU and CPU with it to see if it was the motherboard at fault and not something else.
