Hi
I'm looking to buy a 7inch tablet but i'm only limited to R1 500. I've recently came across this interesting piece of hardware that i believe will do me well. http://www.gsmarena.com/asus_fonepad_7_(2014)-6394.php
I'm going to mainly use it to watch movies, social networking, video chats and read ebooks/comics.

Are there better tablets at this price range or is this a good choice?

That first tablet should not cost that much, not even close to good enough to justify the expenditure. The Kalahari deal seems good from F1, better tablet and cheaper, only 4.22 instead of 4.3 (OS). Also kalahari one has a better screen, better body/screen ratio.

That Huawei is OK. Its not amazing. I couldn't find a way to root it while keeping the same ROM, but I'm sure it is possible with a bit of determination. There are several alternative ROMS out there for it.

However, the price may* well drop again shortly before the Takealot merger, so you might want to risk waiting until then...

Nothing for R999 is going to be amazing. You have to adjust your expectations according to price.
