Hey guys.

I'm not sure what PSU to put into this system. The internet says a 650w is enough ... but is it really? And is a Coolermaster 650w Real Power enough?

Specs:
Intel Q9300 quad
Asus P5N-T Deluxe
Seagate 500GB SATA2
LG GH22NS30 22x Sata
2 x XFX 9800gt 512mb
2 x OCZ Fatality 2x1GB DDR2 1066
Antec Fusion Remote Max Black Case (Front panel display)
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro

Regards

Itai

I don't know what your budget is, but I would suggest a look at the Corsair HX620W. It's a really solid power supply that has rock solid power delivery, modular power cables, and a nice and quiet fan in it. I have one in my rig and couldn't be happier.

Google the name and read the results for yourself.

There is a PSU calculator on the Nvidia site. All you have to do is enter all the specs and the calculator will work out your PSU wattage. Always remember that the wattage is when the system is at peak ie. all the hardware is performing at the same time. So about 80% of the max is more or less the PSU you should buy. Then buy yourself a good PSU like antec

The above is only my suggestion and advice. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong

What do you think of the Coolermaster 650W Real Power ... I have one of those new in stock.

Wattage is not the only thing you need to look at. Make sure that the PSU u buy has enough amps over 12+ rails to carry those gfx cards. If it can do it, it will have enough power to run the rest as well.

What's the budget?

It was about 15k, then went to about 18k with a Logitech DiNovo Edge and MX Air and now its going to about 21k with the need for a Nforce Motherboard (Previous quote P5Q-EM), A larger case (Previously Antec Fusion Remote Black) and another 9800GT.

lol it will be way cheaper to go low end cards then, total waste with 9800gt's. You can go cheaper cpu, mobo, psu and gpu's.

Eisch some people :p

That coolermaster 650w should be fine.

If you wanna be really save get the corsair 650 Watt.
