Backstory: Been with Openweb for a few years, after been disappointed with the speeds I was getting, decided to cancel my accounts with them. *I had a 10 mbs uncapped account with openweb and a 50 gb capped account for during the day with axxess. Decided to cancel axxess accounts too after their network slowed down to a crawl as well.*

Budget: R1000 p.m*
Line speed: 10mps*

Top 3*

1: Crystalweb*

I am a little concerned about Crystalweb becoming another Openweb, great at first but plummeted after gaining popularity. I did get a test account from them and the speeds where a little slower then I would have liked but that could just be Telkom. Support team seems good.*

2: axxess

Axxess has moved over to their own network so maybe things have improved, *I did try to contact their customer service department about what is different but I only received a generic response of little value.*

3: *Vox: *I hear good things but their packages confuse the hell out of me.*

Afrihost was a contender but that ship seems to be sinking too.*

Usage:

torrent downloads via my seedbox and then via http download to my server (less then 10 gigs a month)
steam is likely my biggest data use area
Some streaming when the s/o is over
Online gaming so a low ping is important
Need decent upload speeds for working from home

I really hate moving isp's so I tend to pick one and stick with it for a few years, *what would you suggest?*

Axxesss = Afrihost. but its kinda the iPhone of ISP's. people will say "it just works"

go for Vox. packages are really easy.
step 1 look at your usage (ignore downloading between 24:00 and 06:00)
step 2 pick a fatpipe that suits your usages.
step 3 change router details.
step 5 profit.

I like Crystalweb. And they wont become another Openweb, because Crystalweb is an actual company with real people, and a real network

This looks good so far, any idea on the latency ?

In the hopes that their new network sucks less, I suppose thats a pipe dream tho.

Sorry. The only online gaming I do is hearthstone while streaming series...

Okay so crystalwebs user control panel is still down, second day now. Couldn't sign up if I wanted to. I can do it via the form I suppose but honestly two days downtime for a user control panel is hard to understand.

I have no issues with Afrihost. Plus, their clientzone is top quality in my opinion. Their pricing though needs to be re evaluated, as they have become some what expensive, to what they use to be
