Hi Guys, sorry to interupt again, but i've got a problem with my wireless adsl modem. I've got the 7300 M from billion but with my laptop upstairs i get a crappy wireless connection. I dont get any. I bought that modem just for the wireless connection cause it said, that it was quite good with wifi and stuff. I had the telkom router before this one, at least that one sometimes worked. This billion one gives me trouble at all, what am i supposed to do ?? oh, what i wanted to ask, there were 3 antennas in the box, does it matter which one goes where, or is a certain one specially made for that point ?? people... please help the dutchman :o:o:o

As far as I know you won't get any of the benefits of MIMO unless the wireless card on your computer is also MIMO capable. What wireless card or adapter are you using on your computer? What kind of range are you getting? You may find that you get better range if you use the same family of wireless chipsets (like Atheros or Ralink etc.) to connect to each other than if you mix two or three different types. Look on the Internet to find details about the wireless chipset that is being used in the Billion 7300 MIMO router. You may even find that the 7300G has a better range with your current wireless card.

Hi

One of the things that you could try is to upgrade your laptops wireless drivers. Does not matter if it is a new laptop, they sometimes get shipped with old drivers.

Try changing the wireless channel from e.g. channel 1 to channel 6.

You can also send us a mail to support(at)billionsa.com with your contact details and we can have a look into your problem.

Hi. Check that your old wireless modem is off. It is switch on & set to the same channel you will have interference. You can use Netstumber to see what channels are being used in your area. Your neighbor may have got a new modem on the same channel.

Place you billion in a position that there is the minimum number of "things" between it an your laptop. Anything like walls, steal cupboards, etc cause signal loss. Try putting your Billion high up, like on top of a cupboard. All these small things do make a difference.

Hope this helps.
PS you can also try a small USB wirless receiver, put it on a 2meter long USB cable & try moving it around until you get signal.
