Hi all, please could you offer some advice to a newbie, I recently had my phone's sim card locked through Vodacom due to it being stolen in a violent attack. Smartcom, a service provider who my wife emailed for a quotation on a new phone unlocked the phones sim and didnt relock it. As a result the perpetrators have been using the phone on my account since th 23rd of July. My wife innadvertantly tried to phone me out of habit from her cell and the call was answered by the people who attacked me, we, as a result had to relive the whole unpleasant experience. If this call had not been made we would still not know that the phone was unlocked. We immediately relocked the phone through Vodacom. I have had several attempts at resolving this issue with Smartcom who will not provide answers to my my questions or make any attempt to really resolve this issue.
Please if anybody could offer any assistance or advice with regard to this issue I would be most grateful. I do not know what the legal issues are surrounding the unauthorised unlocking of a sim card but would imagine that at the very least Smartcom could provide an explanation and offer to compensate for the inconvenience and expences incurred. Your advice grately appreciated.
