Yeah, basically has a GUI, most of the times is has a build in media player and you can stream movies from the internet. But a Media player does all this and it does not justify the price between a smart and a non smart TV.

No and to be honest the smart system is a bit slow. Most media players do a better job

Yeah I would take that TV instead, no doubt about that.
The bigger you go the less of a difference 5 inches makes. (10" vs 15" is 50% bigger, and 50" vs 55" is 10% bigger)

If you're considering taking it back, do not open that box. Don't even think about it.


Your only choice here is to pay R9900 for the 50" F6400 LED or R8300 for the 51" F5500 Plasma.
That's the only way I see it.
 
The F6030 and F5000 LCDs are both on par in terms of PQ, not much between them. It's a very diluted 6 Series.

Either F6400 LCD or F5500 plasma (3D, latest SMART, dual core processor, touch remote).

I'm sad that you didn't go with the plasma after all the advice we've given you. :)

But if you do intend to do a lot of daytime/bright viewing, then LCD is a better option.

However if you prefer watching your movies with the lights off...

I've got a smart TV but use a media player anyway. Smart TV isn't worth the extra bucks IMHO, rather go for the extra real estate. I certainly will when I buy my next TV.

Hi PP I looked at the room again, its bright, sun shining in a lot of the day.
I do think the LED will be better downstairs. :)
Should I go return it and go for the 6400?
The saleman unpacked the box as it would not fit in the car, its still there , screen wrapped have not taken it out.
Looking at it, the 6400 looks far better.

You thoughts please bud
Spent about an hour there debating with the salesman and asked for the specs on the 6400 but Makro dont have any :(
 
The 6400 is far better. I would have major regrets if i bought the 6030 tbh. Take it back.

Definitely, UAxxF6400 has micro dimming for improved black levels/contrast.

Find a friend with the TV and test it yourself. Reviews aren't the be-all and end-all. I can assure you that the PS51F5500 is plenty bright.
