I recently bought a K4305 because my 4 year old dongle is well slow. Now the problem that i have is with the old dongle all i had to do was share the connection with the rest of the network and my PS3 and cell could go online, wireless, using the dongle but now with the new dongle it doesnt work, something about it being new tech or the way it connects with the net. This is the router that is being used as a access point.

There is a thread here somewhere with info regarding this matter where you had to change alot of IP and DNS stuff on the router. I did everthing but still no dice.

As an alternative, if all fails, you can use Connectify. Share your Internet through your Wireless NIC.

Hi There,
I presume that you have followed all the instructions in the manual?
I get a similar issue with my router and what seems to help resolve it is to put the MAC address of the device into the router and assign it a fixed IP address.
Not ideal I know but it may help you.

Regards

Tim

Am missing something here. What firmware do you have on that tp-link router?

What is Connectify? And i dont know if i understand correctly but my pc doesnt have a wireless connefction. My PS3, cell and laptop connects wireless to the router.

I am using stock firmware, the one it was released with. Could that be the problem? Even though my old dongle worked.

Do you mean the MAC address of the dongle? Sorry, dont have that much exp with routers ect.

Here is some more info regarding my PC and network.
I am using WIN 7 64bit and my pc is connected to the router using cable to one of the LAN ports and not the WAN port. But did try using both ports and still nothing.

Technically using the stock firmware for the router you have provided the link for, the USB is not for a 3g dongle . so am surprised you got it working in the first place. Are you sure you linked to the correct router?

BTW this is the site i was talking about. Did everything but my local connection doesnt give me an IPv4 address 192.168.137.1, i get something very dif, cant remember.

I didnt use the dongle in the router, it was installed into my pc and shared it from there, but with the new one sharing doesnt work. Will try and find my old dongle to show what model it was.

If you do not have wireless card in your PC then the connectify will not work.

Than your WAN settings are incorrect. The steps in that link are correct. I suggest you try again.

Ill try again and post some screen shot. Maybe i am doing something wrong.

So here are the screen shots of what my settings are and IPs. I followed the info and still my cell cant access the net while on the wifi.
Help me please

Sorry didn't have enough time for that. Literally only had a few seconds to upload, very busy day.
