Hey google :P

This will be my thread do not comment here if you do not want to I am not forcing you, that is also a friendly warning that you might not want to subscribe as I have a lot of questions and will post them as I come accross them so you will get TK level notifications.

For the rest, of course help is much appreciated.

I am going to start with the graphics card.

For argument sake please use 1 x GTX580 as a comparison as that is what i want to upgrade (just one, keep it simple)

This is my current card: https://www.asus.com/Graphics-Cards/ENGTX580_DCII2DIS1536MD5/

This is the specifications of my current card - https://www.asus.com/Graphics-Cards/ENGTX580_DCII2DIS1536MD5/specifications/

I am looking for something smaller, MUCH smaller.

Can someone tell me the real world difference between the PNY NVIDIA Quadro K420 Workstation GPU and the PNY NVIDIA Quadro NVS 310 Workstation GPU specifically what is this NVS series? I know about Qaudro sort of, but not the variants.

These are both lower end Qaudro's how would they compare to the GTX580?

Looking at the specs of my current card especially the 384-bit part it seems to dwarf most. The GTX1080 is only 256 bit :/

How important is that number?

How about you say what you use your PC for?

You don't game so you might get away with buying a cheap GPU or even using the onboard and use the money saved to buy a faster CPU.

For your Adobe type stuff it might be better getting a Xeon and not a i7.

what happened to saving up for a full Mac system? wasnt that the mission a while ago?

A GTX 580's score is 4,992 on this chart: http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html
A GTX 1070's score is 11,161, very near to top.

This is a good deal and it's a bit faster than stock: http://www.wootware.co.za/zotac-zt-...-256-bit-pci-e-3-0-desktop-graphics-card.html
Takes up two slots. I have this card and it doesn't even break a sweat with Battlefield 1 at max at 1080p, will be good enough for 144 Hz too.

This one is even cheaper but slightly slower: http://www.wootware.co.za/galax-gef...gb-gddr5-pci-e-3-0-desktop-graphics-card.html

The Zotac has a three year warranty.

I wish I can just swop with someone, I have a good AMD CPU and AMD motherboard.

What I want is intel.

As for what I use it for.

I live inside Jetbrains so that is primary one and brakets so Ram is more important especially for the VMs, but I also make use of Inkscape and the whole of Adobe expect for video and music editing.

At 100K for the mac eco system I have to pass, that money is better invested on the JSE.

I wish Apple wasn't so expensive or I could rob an incredible corruption, because the guy up stairs knows I want a mac so damn badly!

Running Arch on my primary and Elemtary at work, I came a long way sir.

skipping the answer on the Mac system?
I do clearly remember you being all impressed wiht the new products this year and wanting to change everything over so you can get the complete experience...

You're getting further off track here...those are professional 3D rendering cards. Unless your usage case changed in the last 10 hours you're doing 2D rendering...

11.5 " x 5 " Inch VS 2.713" H x 6.3" L Single Slot
wait so by smaller card you mean physically smaller?
