Hi all

Recently back from the UK. Brought my Netgear ADSL modem/wireless router back with me.

Unlike most routers I've seen for sale locally, its WAN/Internet port is ethernet and therefore cannot connect directly to the phone jack. Is there a converter to handle this issue? If so, please could someone let me know exactly what to look for and suggest where I might be able to get it. I tried Incredible Connection, but (naturally) I just got blank stares from the "experts" there.

Alternatively, should I just buy a new router?

Any comments/suggestions most welcome.

Cheers
M

Do you have your old router? you could use this as a access point and use the wireless

Yeah, the access point is the problem though. How can I connect the phoneline to a router that only has an ethernet WAN/Internet port?

Sounds like you have a Wireless Router -- NO Modem -- therefore NO RJ11 ( to connect to telephone wall socket.)

You would need to find a "modem" with an RJ11 and an RJ45 female connector.
or
an all in one device -- wireless modem router
then
use your current device as an extended AP.
Also
A switch into which you could plug BOTH devices -- and other wired machines.
