I dont know what to do. Sinse last week I have this problem :

When I connect my PC via ethernet cable to my ADSL router it works fine. But after a while I cannot access the internet anymore. I then cannot connect to the router over http either. It will only work again if I reboot my PC.

All devices ( Laptop , iPad ) that connect wirelessly still works fine.

Any ideas ?

I've had exactly the same issue before. The best solution is to update your LAN card Drivers.
If you want to confirm that your PC is at fault and not your router, you could try plugging in
your laptop via LAN cable when the issue occurs with your PC.

I have 2 PC's connected via cable. Both stop having internet access. One is running Win 7 the other Win 8.

Have you done a factory reset on the router yet?

i had the same problem at an client of mine and i had to remove its anti virus and reinstall the anti virus wrote its one scripts to block internet usage after one usage then the PC needs an restart before you can use it again for one time.

I was thinking virus but then why aren't the wireless PCs affected?

I have the same issue, somewhat.
My main PC at home connects but there is no connectivity or it is very slow (cable to router)
However, I changed to wireless and it works fine.
The other PC in the house is also connected via Cable and it works fine.
Eventually, I reloaded the PC, right drivers for both, cable doesn't work but wireless does.
Even tested and changed the cable, no win.

I've been so busy lately that I've just left it, but I should go back and try fix this.

check the ip address that your wired computers received from the dhcp server, the fact that you can't even connect to router from those computers are rather strange, which router do you have?

Sorry for the late reply ,was a bit busy.

I've tried a factory reset without success.

Router wasn't hit by lightning.

Router is a D-Link from Telkom.

Can it be a virus ? Although Kaspersky & MalwareBytes doesn't find anything.

Do you use a static IP address or DHCP and check if your antivirus doesn't have blocks for certain ports like 8080/80 etc.

I use COMODO, Spybot Search and Destroy and Adaware with no problems here and finds anything which shouldn't be there if it gets past COMODO which it doesn't.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I've re-installed my anti virus and all seems to be back to normal for now :)
