hi guys i just upgraded and i want to know where do i go to download stuff at a fast speed because i can't use file hosting sites like rapidshare because i'm getting about 40kbps. what do i do? i'm new to all of this
Normally HTTP downloads tend to peak at 4Mbps. If you downloading torrents, it depends on how many peers are seeding the file. Higher speed lines for me is more about multi-tasking in the sense that I can have multiple downloads going on.
Are you uncapped? If you are not, phone Telkom and ask them to sync you to the 10Mpbs line if you are close to the exchange.
I think so. But I had a problem where I had to call them to sync at the 10Mbps speed.Don't they do that automatically?
What ISP contract are you on and do you have premium accounts with file hosts? if your on an uncapped you don't normally get full speed during the day and if you don't have a premium account with the file hosts you use you will get those sorts of speeds.
even if you had a premium account they'll still shape it to death. only things that will be at full speed are HTTP and cached content from their own newsserver. ce la vii'm with mweb, not too happy about the whole situation because i don't have any premium account with any file hosts
