Help with friend's new PC

I told you to get a 8600GT...

Or if I knew you were gonna take the 8500Gt I would have said get a 7600GT..

Ya i know. I should have listened. But the places here in CT do not have as good prices as you do...So I couldn't find either an 8600Gt nor a 7600Gt that came within budget...

Well you should've bought it from Gauteng and just had it shipped...

I have not had good times with couriers lately and it was one of those "i must have it now!' moments, which i almost never have :p :o

Let that teach you to never say "I must have it now!" to anything but the top-of-the-line hardware (says the guy who still has a FX5900Ultra in his server ;))

Yeah, lesson learnt. Still, the card is not too bad, and it certainly is better than onboard...

/me gonna go pick up my 7900GT from the post office now now!

/me jumps up and down with joy :D

/me must remember to put in the 450W PSU and take the 350W out...

Oh well, I overclock this single core baby too 2.6GHz (aka it would have been a Athlon 64 4100+, if there was one) and I have 2GB of DDR400, so I guess I can survive :p

But I only have single core in a 939 board so upgrade to dualcore not cheap and easy (would need to get CPU, motherboard AND RAM :( )

Uhm, you do get Athlon dualcores for socket 939 by the way. Just plug out and plug in, that easy :D
