Hi,
Don't know if this is the right place but I had a question about making calls from one cell to another due to not having a landline. Currently I have heard about Fring. I can use a neighbours adsl connection(wi-fi) and wish to call some other friends who I can ask to get Fring or other such clients. Is it worthwile? A problem that I usually encountered with skype etc is a lag, kind of irritating, where you start speaking n the other is still speaking, or similar issues. Also, I have heard something about 'SIP's' which will make the call much better. Will this be available on a nokia 5800?
Basically, any advice will help. The vodacom rates are killing me and this 'free' option to other fring users is appealing!

Thanks.

You need to answer a few questions first:
How strong is the wireless signal from your neighbors wireless?
What line speed does he/she have?
Is his/her adsl uncapped?

Or you can try Nimbuzz. I've been using it for ages and it's pretty awesome. I used to use Fring, however Nimbuzz has outshone it in terms of performance and features. I regularly make skype calls to other skypers or other phones using Nimbuzz and 3G, works a treat.

oh and it works with ALL major chat /voice programs + facebook chat + twitter.. hmm they should pay me for this advertising...

Please,if your Nokia has native Sipstack do NOT go for a third party app.
The sweet and short is that the 5800 support Sip natively.
Just need to be setup correctly with a proper Service provider.
