I've bought my kids a Intex Easyset 366cm x 76cm pool about 2 weeks back.
I filled it with water and the kids enjoyed playing in it. Last week the floor of the pool started changing color, first yellow and now its green.

How do i get rid of this? I've heard i can just add some salt to the water. If so, how much salt?

Or is there any other way of maintaining the sparkle in my pool?

I added a bit to the one we bought (about the same size) - but just a very small amount, then the normal use of the pool seemed to move the water enough.

You must treat it as you would a normal pool. I use one of the small balanced chlorine floaters(it lasts about a month), clean the floor regularly and run the filter pump(which came with mine) for about two hours a day.

The filters tend to clog up regularly, and then I take it out and give it a good rinse with water. The filter pump does not have a backwash function.

Thanx. I will go hunting for chlorine over the weekend. Any brands i should be looking out for?

It came with a pump but without a filter. I will check at Game over the weekend if they have any filters and of that floater thingys.

Yip, most retail stores stock the filters. I used the chlorine tabs that they sell for use with Jacuzzi's.

Oh yes you might need a shocker to just to start. But you can buy all these things at the pool section in game. you get a nifty set that works like a creepy. You attach your hose to it - it looks like a pool brush. Works very well.

I cannot find a cover for it at Game. Sold out. Any other stores I can try.
I'm in the Port Edward - Margate area.

Mine is the Intex A type filter and I found some at Brights Hardware (http://www.brights.co.za/) in the Cape Town area for R50 each.

I would be interested to know of other stores that sell them at a similar or cheaper price(especially online)
