Just got the Nvidia GTX 1050 TI

Removed the ATI 5870 and the new card is not picked up at all.
Doesnt see it.

It only picks up the card in the grey slot and not the blue slot. - the one the old card was in working perfectly.
It is only now picking up the on board Intel GPU

Any ideas whats going on?
Making me furious

Thanks

PSU not pushing out enough power maybe?

Just thinking here

1050 draws half the amount of power of a 5870.

Check for dust and stuff in the slot.

EDIT: it may be a PCI issue, the Radeon is PCIe 2.1 and the 1050 is 3.0, your processor may not be able to handle PCI 3.0

Shouldn't be an issue. PCI 2.0 is fine. Only a couple FPS drop. I'm running a 2600k with a GTX1070

What motherboard are you using? Try remove, clean and reseat the card. Ensure power is connected correctly. Try a different PCI-E slot (if one is available).

Don't lose hope, it should still work.

Another possible issue is that the 1050 draws all it's power from the mobo not an external connector doesn't it? May be too much for one of the rails on your PSU. It's more likely TBH

Cant get any signal or detection, uses an external connector as well as normal power from the actual board that its seated on I assume

So basically the CPU is not allowing me to use this card?
So now what ? I need a new CPU?

A new CPU isn't necessarily the answer...the card should still work in PCI-E 2.0 mode.

I'm not clear on whether the card works in the second PCI-E slot or not...if it's working in there, leave it in there and have fun gaming. Since the CPU isn't going to support PCI-E 3.0, having the card in the PCI-E 2.0 slot isn't an issue.

Working fine on the other slot - so now is it badly degraded in terms of quality and performance>?

No - the second slot runs at x8 (instead of x16 like the first slot) but the difference isn't noticeable in actual performance.

Just don't use the card in the slot at the bottom of the motherboard...that one shares bandwidth with other slots so it could be slower.
