Help with TightVNCServer and Linux Mint

I have installed Linux Mint on my HTPC and is trying to setup tightvnc. I have followed this guide for setting up tightvnc:

When I start my tightvncserver, and attempt to login from my windows pc, I get the following on login:

You don't need to install vnc on the mint machine. Yust enable the remote desktop facility

Menu Prefs Desktop Sharing

Enable, then use tightvnc from Windows to the mint machine ip

If you really can't get it all to work, then just use Teamviewer - bit of an overkill imo but apparently it works well

/opines - see class, this is why you do not ask devs for technical support - they will invariably look for the most complicated way of doing something - true story/

A quick google will sort out autostart - can't remember off the top of my head

Must say though, my mint machine rarely requires rebooting
