Hemorrhoidectomy

There cannot be anything worse than pain where the sun don't shine and not being able to do anything about it.

So anybody had one? What to expect? Pain?
:D
I did it in June this year...
*pain in the butt* personified

Ok,what to expect:
1. After the operation-u won't feel any pain ,just a huge cottonwool stuffed in yo butt.
2. After being discharged-slight pain.
3. When you get home - MAJOR PAIN!

Word of advice - always drink ALL those meds they are gonna give you, especially that anti-constipation med, eitherwise your stools WILL become hard and *jy gaan jou $%Ă·& sien*.

During the first week, always drink your pain meds as well, that area doesn't get much *fresh air* so it takes longer to heal. Use a reminder if necessary, because if you allow those meds to finish in your system before you take your next dose,,, you are going to be in serious pain!

Food-lots of water, fruits and high fibre stuff. Avoid bread for the first week.

2nd week-you will still feel some pain and you must just continue with all the meds. If painkillers run out,top up with GENPAIN capsules (lifesaver!).

You will bleed everytime you pass a stool. This will happen for about 2weeks.

They will give you Iodine to bath with. I also used it everytime I took a dump. Never use toilet paper!, use cottonwool soaked in warm water + put iodine inside it... That's your toilet paper until you heal completely.NEVER use toilet paper! It'll make u itch (the itch won't go away)

Goodluck!

And so I have had it.

I agree. Butt-loved by a cactus.

I have had internal and external ones removed. I even had a shot of morphine, and I always thought that morphine was for Vietnam movie-heroes who suffered from multiple gun-shot wounds!

The plug yesterday... that was HELL when I had to remove it.

Now I am taking my pain-killers diligently.

My a$$ is so sensitive, I am afraid of drinking just one beer!

I guess it depends on where the scalpel cuts, but for me, it was all the sensitive parts.

Oof, sounds terrible!

Morphine is good though, real good

What painkillers did they put you on? I'd have asked for nothing less than oxycodone.

Oh, and if you're on pain meds don't drink any alcohol.

Tramacet. Maybe next week I'll have a beer.

Hm... I take tramacet for very mild pain, usually around 4 of them. Are they working okay for you?

I find doctors in this country don't like prescribing strong painkillers, even if you need them.

Rather stay away from alcohol completely until the healing process is complete and you're off all medication.

I had the op for external, hardly any pain. Went for a poo the first day, no problem.

Internal - my partner is going next week...the specialist said they use a new method...supposedly no pain.

lol@ butt-plug! *not-so-sweet-memories*

no pain for internal ? hmmm, I cant wait to hear this story!

yeah, I agree with Mike, drink those "stool softeners" religiously...even when u feel like u r ok, dont stop...what did they prescribe?

A friend of mine had it done 3 years ago. He said he learnt alot during that experience - like the fact that everything in your body is somehow connected to your butthole. He didnt want to laugh, cough, choke, breath, eat, fart, sneeze (very painful), or even think for a few weeks.

I thought it funny. Poor dude.
