Hemorrhoidectomy

Don't they use lazers these days?

Although i don't think it will work for the big ones.

This operation is also waiting for me sometime in the future.

it doesn't matter what they use, the pain will still be there afterwards anyway :(

I'm at work and don't want to Google here ...

But what is exactly is it?
And more importantly - how can I avoid it?!

Removing hemorrhoids (aambeie in Afrikaans)

Include lots of fiber in your diet, do not sit for too long, drink plenty of water, if you do heavy weight training do it correctly etc. I don't know if you can really avoid it.

Wife back from the hospital.

Very little pain. She sits without a inner tube ;). Is drinking beer with me.

That's cool man! I still have some pain and I am still... nevermind.

Which procedure did she have? Rubber bands, staples, something, something new...?

She needed pain meds at 4am this morning. "The internal hemorrhoids are cauterized by the (rectopexy) Doppler and then gets pulled up and tied etc", her explanation.

Haha - i almost overdose on morphine after my op... here's how:

so had the op, not much pain whilst still in hospital. then got discharged, first 2 days no real pain, 3rd day, pain set in, 4th day was excruciating.
____
so, 2 yrs ago, sister-in-law had cancer, doc's gave her liquid morphine to self-medicate. She passed on and the morphine was in the drawer.
____

So, backup a bit, 3rd day in the evening, wife offers me some morphine as the pain was getting bad. I declined, said Tramacet would do...

4th day, pain like bad, take 2 tramacet's at 6am... 8am, still in big pain. Get liquid morphine out. Read bottle. Look for syringe. Can't find one. DAMN! There is 1 somewhere. Couldn't care. Read bottle. Take 5ml every 4-6hours. Cool - 5ml = 1tspn. Grab tspn. Take 1 and think... mmmmm, maybe just another half to make sure. So total of approx. 7.5ml. Go back to bedroom, put movie on and try relax. 30min later, room spinning, life outta control. ZONED TO THE MAX!!!!!! lay there stunned for almost 2hours, put another movie on, go back to bed, same thing... HAHAHAAH - **** this stuff is strong. No wonder sister didn't want it...

8hrs later, sobering up, wife comes home. Tell her that the morphine is strong stuff. But had NO pain the entire day.. haha.

Later that evening, pain comes back, wife suggests more morphine, I agree, but maybe less this time. So she knows where the syringe is... gets it out. Reads the bottle, puts morphine in syringe and i think... "that doesn't look like enough, let me see".. the syringe is a 2.5ml syringe. I think again... "i have to have 2 full syringes of this stuff!!!"

then the wife says, no, you're only supposed to have 0.5ml every 4-6hours!!!

bottomline: i took 15x the prescribed amount and loved every minute of it!!! but it was a bit scary after i knew... haha

ps: i have been in theatre over 50 times in my life so i know morphine, pethadine, codeine, etc. but this liquid morph is wow!!!! Still have it in our medicine drawer..... just i case ;)

It doesn't matter what pills you take, that area of the body won't get proper relief. I guess with the morphine, you are past caring.

Envy... Pure Envy.

Morphine is so hard to get! Been trying for 3 years. I guess my chronic pain is just not "good" enough...
