That is what's happening now. The courts were too lenient when this all started back in March.
Hermanus CPF update 18/07/18 at 19h10 : The crowd split up as they left the Stadium. Some people headed for the sewerage plant, some for the taxi rank and there is a group at the Still / Swartdam corner. There is no active rioting at the moment, but fires are burning and there are lots of people in the streets. There is a large contingent of SAPS, POP, Law Enforcement and Traffic officials monitoring. R43 is open, Zwelihle access roads are closed.
Regarding tomorrow, we confirm that the Court Hearing of the accused will take place in Hermanus at 9am. We would encourage you to perhaps get where you are going a little earlier than normal, and make your plans for the afternoon. Be on standby during the morning, as we are not quite sure what to expect. SAPS assure us that maximum deployment will be in place.

It would appear the R43 is still the target, but authorities are holding the crowd back in the bottom part of Swartdam Road. R43 is open, access roads to Zwelihle are closed. Had a couple of mini Marikanas happened in the early 90s when rioting, looting & arson first became fashionable the country would be a lot more stable and law abiding today.

What we are witnessing now is the **** that the cops received afterwards and the terrorists know the police will not put themselves in such a position again. The officer who's shotgun was taken from him will be in a heap of trouble because he used live rounds on the scum whilst they were running away.
"Someone" needs to go to the houses of these instigators at night while they are asleep and say hello to them, it will have the same effect on them as the Marikana commission had on the SAPS

It's been a quiet day so far. The ringleader who they are rioting to get realeased appeared in court this morning in Hermanus. Here is official update...
Hermanus CPF update 19/07/18 at 10h40 : we confirm that the case has been postponed to be heard in the Regional Court in Strand. Zwelihle and CBD still quiet, no groupings have formed. The R43 is open, access roads to Zwelihle are closed. Law Enforcement agencies are in position.
The CBD has never been threatened and the R43 only closes now and again for safety sake. But the protests/riots are all contained in the same area and if you are coming for a weekend, you'll have the same great time that you always do

Minister Bheki Cele has just rejected my request for the SANDF to support the police in protecting the people of Zwelihle, Mount Pleasant, Hawston, Hermanus, Sandy Bay and the whole of Overstrand from the rule of lawless thugs.
They have usurped the role of the state and are refusing to allow any service to enter the area, not even medical, sanitation or refuse removal. Children are out of school. Services -- such as the library, swimming pool and recycling depot, are destroyed.
People are intimidated to join the roving bands of marauders, who are burning people's possessions and refusing to allow anyone out of the area to go to work.
When the role of the state is usurped by bandits, and the police are outnumbered, it is time to send in the SANDF, Minister Cele.
I am going to be joining DA Leader, Mmusi Maimane now in Manenberg to march in support of community calls for the SANDF to support police against the rule of gangs and thugs. We cannot allow SA to become a Thugocracy.

Hermanus CPF update 19/07/18 at 11h30 : Zwelihle and CBD is still quiet although there is a crowd slowly building up at the Zwelihle Taxi Rank. The R43 is open, access roads to Zwelihle are closed. Law Enforcement agencies remain in position.

All they need to do is coordinate their riots.
Kick off 3 similar riots simultaneously across different municipalities and the POP/SAPS/Metro will be overwhelmed.

I suspect they're plotting something - there's no way they're going to sit back peacefully and say "Oh well, case has been postponed, let's go home and chill".
