Dissatisfaction amongst players and supporters with the conservative game plan employed by the Wallabies during and after the world cup, a win rate hovering around 60%, and a poor 3-15 record against the All Blacks led to Deans came under increasing pressure to keep his coaching position.

Remember, that's coaching the Wallabies. Didn't Jake White say its difficult coaching Aussies because they think always know better, never sticking to structures?

i think Deans will do just fine coaching SA.

Well, he also had a run-in with Cooper, who fscks up any kind of structure. With Bernard Foley and Michael Cheika they're doing much better on that front.

I feel sorry for any SA coach stepping into this position, and a bit more sorry for any foreign coach. How will they be able to deal with the political crap? It's death for any coach.

Steve Hansen also highlighted that bit when discussing Meyer.

Heyneke Meyer has resigned as the head coach of South Africa.

The 48-year-old's contract was due to expire at the end of the month but he has told the South African Rugby Union that he does not wish to stay on.

Meyer, a former Leicester Tigers coach, led the Springboks to the World Cup semi-finals, where they were beaten by eventual winners New Zealand.

"I have realised that, as much as I still have a lot to offer, the time has come for change," said Meyer.

"My integrity has always been very important and I feel I can leave with my head held high."

Yip,
You have to have an extremely thick skin to coach SA. Anyone that has a job will actually be stupid to leave their current positions to coach the boks.
But ja, lets see what happens.

Hope Meyer gets a coaching position where he is appreciated. The SA coaching position was not good for his health, I have never seen a person closer to an heart attack week in and week out :D
 
Not gonna defend him in here, and I think for himself it was the sane decision.

Just hope he comes home to the Bulls.

Talking about trophies, there are many levels and certain individuals are only as good as their obtainable level.

The question is if they will look overseas... If not, it has to be one of the super rugby coaches, don't think they will take someone with experience at that level.
So
Bulls - just fired their coach, so no
Kings - nope
Sharks - bad season, so don't think so
Cheetahs - coach fired
Stormers - maybe
Lions - maybe
