Isn't it already set in stone that Coetzee will take over?
You guys though Meyer was bad. Wait and see.

Politics will decide .... unfortunately .... who gets the job.
Maybe Tony Ehrenreich

“We have reached a natural watershed in many ways with a significant number of senior players either retiring or moving overseas as well as the fact that our Strategic Transformation Plan is now in full swing,” said Hoskins.
Prepare for more losses against Japan and the like...
Thanks for all your effort and hard work HM. I've opposed your selection policies, style of rugby and been frustrated with you many a time but I always believed that you wanted the best for the bokke, you can see it clearly in your passion and desire, it shines through.
All the best in your future rugby endevours...
Realistically now. Who is actually available for the Bok job?
And that, ladies and gentlemen, was the death knell for South African rugby.
Nothing..some realization maybe?
The criticism I've seen against AC is basically outright racism imo. NO South African coach currently going around has a better CV than him. Coached the Junior Boks to success, was assistant coach to Jake White during 2004 -2007, Stormers coach for 5 odd years? Played in a Super Rugby final, a few semi finals and won 2 Currie Cups. IF SARU wants a South African coach it has to be him.
With this ^ I agree. Great post, Wall!
Excellent question. Whoever the incumbent is, the lad is going straight into the deep end. I doubt they will look at any who have held the role, with possible exception of Nick Mallet. If it isn't a political appointment and solely on merit, possibly Johan Ackermann or John Mitchell of that which is in the country at the moment.
Hi ZCF, long time....
I agree though that no SOUTH AFRICA coach has a better CV, besides of course Meyer, Jake White and old Nick.
Coetzee is not bad, but he is also not great. He has basically achieved nothing at the stormers for how many seasons now?, he is by no means as k@k as PDV, and probably one of the better SA coaches.
But there is no way someone is going to tell me he is a better coach than Meyer.
We should have jumped at the Jones opportunity, that ship has sailed now. The best we can do now is make Robbie Deans a good offer. unfortunately I don't think anyone wants the SA coach position. Everyone expects these amazing results with constant political influence.
So I'm ZCF for calling out racism?![]()
Hmm, Coetzee has been the best SA franchise coach in the last 4 years. Finished top of the conference more than any other. Finished top of the log in a season. He is also the only WP coach in 12 years to win the Currie Cup.
He also has experience at all the levels. U21, Super Rugby and he was assistant coach for JW. IMO he is the obvious choice.
Meyer just quit and Mallet has no interest in coaching in this country. I discounted White since there is no chance SARU will want him back.

dude I get this with almost every post I make.
some people just won't see/hear it as it is.
You just said NO South African has a better CV, I just mentioned 3.
I would also pick him above Ackerman, Even Plumtree and Mitchell for that matter. But saying he is the best man for the job......
We need a NZ coach. If we stick with AC we will have another Meyer. AC brings nothing to the table HM didn't already bring.
