Hi there. So I'm back, but

Actually, there is truth in what genelock says. If you're suffering from depression and you're on meds, but you're still feeling suicidal, then something needs to change. Either the meds are not the right antidepressant for Tera or the dosage is too low.

Sure, but without any sort of history, it's irresponsible to go telling people on medication that they're on the wrong drugs. Simply. Not. An. Internet. Stranger's. Call. To. Make.

Professional treatment is critical, which Tera is undergoing.

yes that's what I said

I have a sneaky suspicion it's the wrong medication, wrong dosage, wrong dr. or a combination
......

Person needs better professional help

I'm not sure if I'm going to let it all out.

In a nutshell I killed myself twice in a span of a year and a half. Spent 4 weeks in I.C.U., 2nd time was a week in hospital this year a day after my birthday.
I spent 4 months in rehab this year after that week.

Now I'm picking up the pieces of a shattered life and a family whom I hurt very much.

I'm very depressed, sad. My meds get monitored, given to me. I'm unemployed and trying my best to stand up again in life.

I am alive, but wish I wasn't.
So yes.

That's me.

Byes :) :D ;)

Welcome back! Considering the last 18 months, good to see a return. Hope it only gets better from here for you!

This is a touchy topic for me at the moment, my brother committed suicide last week.
I'm really glad your back, but please talk to those around you. They care a lot more than you think.

Sorry to hear that Akirky. Sympathy to you and the fam.

I don't know you and I don't want to sound insensitive, but you need to think about the ones you will leave behind when you keep doing this and how they will feel when you succeed. Depression runs in my family with my youngest brother being the worst sufferer as he sometimes becomes suicidal too. There's nothing more frighting for your family than the thought of losing you and not being able to do anything about it.

It might seem like it would be better for you if didn't exist anymore, but your family will have to pick up the pieces and they might also end up depressed like you if you kill yourself. They love you more than you think. Have you considered checking yourself into a psychiatric hospital for a month or two? It might help you as I know some people that were helped that way. Also it might help if you start doing something in your community. Helping others might help you build your self worth and stop you dwelling too much on your situation.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. You need to talk to someone as well. Don't underestimate the impact of what has happened to you.

Really sorry to hear this.

Welcome back |tera|.

I've been there. People who haven't don't always know how difficult it is. When all you can think about is wanting to die. And it's not as simple as people think to get out of it. It's all you want. And your brain works against you.

I too tried to kill myself back then. And also didn't succeed. I thought back then that I couldn't even do that right. I was without a job back then. The future looked bleak. There was just no reason to live.

But |tera|, things changed for me. I'm happy now. It took a long while to get here but things worked out for me.

So hang in there. May things get better for you again. If it did for me then man, it can for most people.

If you need to talk at all with someone who's been there, send me a pm.

Sad thread :(

Welcome back tera, I wish there was something I could say or do to help - if there is, just let me know. The same probably goes for every participant in this thread.

So sorry to hear about your brother Akirky, words escape me - I cannot express how sad I feel for you and those who loved him.

Solitude, it's good to hear that you've come through the bad times and are now feeling happiness. Your story gives hope to sufferers of depression.

Hang in there tera, we're here for you.

I know you mean well, but guilt tripping people into wanting to live is ineffective because it builds resentment. It makes them even more unhappy because they end up feeling like they're living only for others.

Soos kanker of diabetes is gemoedsversteurings ʼn siektetoestand in ʼn mens se brein.

Nee. Dit was ʼn desperate keuse. ʼn Irrasionele keuse. Maar op daardie oomblik wat dit die enigste keuse wat hy of sy kon sien.

It's an Afrikaans opinion piece, but it is very well written and give some good insight.

Stalin would tell you, you're useless that you even failed in killing your self :crylaugh:

kidding man, we need all the hard working manes we can get out there.
