High end pc vs ps3 vs xbox

And that's before you have to sit hunch-backed in front of your crappy 22" monitor :)

I don't agree with this being a valid argument. Nothing prevents a pc owner from running his PC on his 40" LCD.

For me if I had to choose just one of the two PC vs console for our home. It would be PC. ie I would miss not having a PC more than not having a console. (and I'm referring to a gaming pc).

PC has keyboard (and can get console controller) and PC can do internet browsing. Whilst these aren't deciding factors, it can go in the PC pro's column.

i have both ps3 and xbox and will not go back to pc again, to expensive
I don't get involved in consoles vs pc..

But ROFLOL at THAT statment. How much does your game(s) cost you for you PS3 and Xbox?

My pc is 3 years old. I buy games R300-R400 where you pay R800+. Yes... consoles are cheaper..... if you buy 1 game a year.

Edit: And thread of consoles vs pc.. are as old as the internet. WHO cares.. buy both and be happy if you can afford it.

Well, are graphics (read: some slightly higher res texture, couple extra leaves on trees etc) your deciding factor or gameplay? If it's the latter, then i'm i'm afraid consoles own, and in particular the PS3, depending on your choice of games. All PC owners ever seem to look forward to are:
1) Starcraft 2
2) Diablo 3

Nice. 2 games, released who knows when. (and they may even make it over to consoles)

Sorry, but PC gamers are holding onto graphic superiority as the be-all-and-end-all, when there's just so much more they're missing out on.
A few problems with your statment about graphics are the only thing.

1)Having fun playing a FPS game on your joystick. (I sold my PS 2 years ago because of this)

2)#1 is causing "aiming assist" to be build into games... to help console players. Some games have bigger crosshairs now.

3)Lack of save anytime... consoles caused it... Pcs can quick save... don't believe me ?

Rules and regulations
The Wii also creates problems when it comes to saved games, as Nintendo has specific rules about what you can do with the flash memory. “You can't write to the flash very often,” explains Bruner, “so you're limited in the amount of writing you can do.” A developer also isn't allowed to dynamically change the size of a saved game file on the Wii, as gamers always need to be able to save their game in the same amount of space. This means that a Wii developer has to predict a worst-case scenario for its save game data and stick to that file size.
It's worth remembering that, despite the fact that two of the current consoles have hard drives, console gaming has grown up around the basis of small amounts of space on flash memory cards and game cartridges, which means limited space and a limited number of writes too. As such, a culture has developed around save points in console games, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. You could argue that it's better to be able to save everything whenever you want, but you could also argue that this prevents you from playing the game properly.

Consoles = LIMITED DRM Infested crap. Fck that. I want freedom.

There are far more games pc gamers look forward to. Cod:mw2? Assassins creed 2? Its fine to be wrong sometimes, but there is no need to make an outright LIE ;)

My PS3 can get a keyboard, it also does internet and I don't have to upgrade it everytime a new game comes out. And I can watch Blu-Ray movies.

Great, now go invite your mates over for a few beers and crowd around your PC trying to play against each other. Let's see how much fun that is.

PS: It's pointless looking good when things get choppy every few seconds because of the constant reads/write going on in the OS background. And that's before you have to sit hunch-backed in front of your crappy 22" monitor :)
Connect PC to same display as the consoles and use the same controller. There should not be constant writes in the background, and reads are only an issue if the game has not been coded correctly unless perhaps trying to play with far too little memory.

The only games worth playing in groups on a single display are those where all the action fits on a single screen. As soon as you have to go for a split screen better to have independent displays.

Can we please not turn this thread into a console vs PC one.

Simple, if you want to play games, get a console.
If you want to send emails and have a recycle bin feature, get a PC.

I consider a 2.3Ghz quad core with 4GB ddr2 800 ram and an ATI HD 4890 as a GAMING Pc ;)

I like Tetris too! We should play online sometime!

that makes you look like a complete idiot tim - that PC is way more than needed to run games...

His actually not lying bud you can connect a bluetooth keyboard and a mouse to the ps3. And there is a internet browser on the xmb that you can access and search anything you like and for the Hard Drives they are upgradeble without voiding any warranties:)

Now! someone at last git it! :) Damn!

I was always a PC gamer, still am but not as much. I game much more on my Xbox.

If money wasnt a issue its a pointless debate cos you cannot compare the two. Comparing the two is like comparing a car that is racing to one that is idling.

The PC will always beat a console. It is way more powerful than a console.

Yes, those a are two EXCLUSIVES that are coming to the PC. Is that ALL we're looking forward to........... all sources point to "No". ;)

Agreed with Kerrang!. That statement makes you look like an idiot.

That's all you use a PC for?

I'm an FPS gamer. FPS = mouse and keyboard. Yes, of course you can play it on the console and I'm sure that at some stage you'll get mouse and keyboard configurations for the console (I think you allready do for the PS3).

I don't want to have a 4MB line just to host an Xbox game. I don't want to join international servers on the PS3, I don't care how well the net code is there WILL be lag.

I've got my PC for FPS and my Xbox for arcade like games like Skate FTW!!

He doesn't care about movies and stuff.

Please read the original question

hi i just want to know what you guys think is best for gaming?i think pc owns
xbox and ps3

The bottom line doesn't matter which platform you prefer you need cash. Console is a once of payment of 4k or how much ever it costs but the games does cost like R600/R800 new release game.

Where with pc games much cheaper but you do need to upgrade every 2nd year or so to keep up with latest gfx development.

And yes some games will never be released on console and some games will never be released on pc. But most games these days are released across all platforms. And some games does look better on console and other games looks better on PC.It doesn't have anything to do with pc is better or the console is better. That is just developers who didn't do there job properly.

My advice test all the platforms and decide for yourself which one you prefer.
