There's always talk about connecting the PC to a big display, but how practical is it really? Do most people have space on their desk for a 40" display? Do you have to connect it to the display each time you want to play, and then switch back when you're done?Connect PC to same display as the consoles and use the same controller. There should not be constant writes in the background, and reads are only an issue if the game has not been coded correctly unless perhaps trying to play with far too little memory.
The only games worth playing in groups on a single display are those where all the action fits on a single screen. As soon as you have to go for a split screen better to have independent displays.
PS: I was talk more along the lines of background processes, not just the game itself
