High quality things.

On free range eggs, iI a watched a short interview where the free-range chickens aren't actually running around in a nice open area as we would like to think. They have these massive "barns" that have openings so the chickens can go outside if they like, but because there are thousands of chickens in the barn, it would take them ages to get from the middle of the barn to one of the openings. Also, as there is plenty feed inside the barn, the chickens have little to no reason to venture outside. The man on the video used the term "non-caged" as opposed to free-range.

That's good enough for me.

Quantity vs quality, what's your take as a champion of value for money?

I've already posted in this thread.

Continuing though, I like to buy stuff at the point of diminishing returns. That is, where additional expenditure yields very little return.

Quantity vs. quality is not what is happening. If I come across a nice but cheap shirt I wouldn't think "holy donuts, I can buy 10 of these".

I've had expensive shoes and clothes last almost no longer than their cheaper equivalents. If they do last, then great, but I don't buy them on that assumption.

If you're looking for a PC/Mac diatribe, you'll have to start. My rig has a 27" display, high end liquid cooled hardware, a mechanical keyboard, gaming mouse etc. and I think provides a user experience vastly superior to most PC's. What Mac do you use again?

I won't buy Cheap tablets. Only buy iPads/iPhones and invest into the best covers/cases we can find. My now 7 year old (8 in July) has had his iPad since he was two, countless drops, Slips and falls and both device and case are perfect. X 4 iphones and iPad. Worth laying out the cash upfront to protect your valuables.

Clothing and shoes- we only buy branded clothing for ourselves and kids. It lasts longer and far better then Pep, Edgars, Woolies clothing. After going through two kids most kids clothing is still in excellent condition to be passed onto a friend or family member.

Meat - buy the best we can afford at the time. No added anything or fillers. Organic and free range where we can.

Healthwise do you think going the organic and free range route is better? Did you notice any difference?

Coffee - Woolworths beans are about as low as I'll go in a pinch
Cameras and lenses (Canon) - I won't buy third party glass but sometimes
Laptop - Macbook Pro… that's nonnegotiable.

Woolworths fruit is pricey but the best by far it tastes much better and lasts much longer.

I've had some bad experiences with woolies fruit.

Actually can't really tell the difference between what I buy at checkers or spar and what woolies offers.

I totally expected someones mother and sister to make an appearance in this thread.

For me it was decent headphones.

Internet Forums

And the prizes they give away.

And on that note... I hope this gratuitous suck-up wont count against me if/when I do win something in a giveaway.

I am comparing it to Pick n Pay fruit so you could be right.

You will be so happy.

Lifetime guarantee also means it is an investment. I've had a friend drop a pot and break a handle off and Le Creuset swapped it out without any questions asked.

I'm busy saving for another skillet now.

PS: Keep a look out for specials on their website and for discount vouchers in Home and Lifestyle magazines.
