Hi guys

I haven't had uncapped since June (exchange issues), but there should be ports available next month so it's time to start looking at packages. Basically I'm looking at 4-8MB to share between two heavy downloaders (my brother just moved in with me).

I was with Afrihost uncapped for a while but the excessive throttling put me off (I don't know how their rollover period works but I was still 80% throttled after 2 months using less than 50gb on a 10mb package). I switched to them from Mweb premium (4mb) after getting my final warning.

What I'm looking for is anything that can do close to 400GB/month without major throttling and little to no impact on gaming. How do Mweb business ,Afrihost business and Openweb Gold stack up against each other in terms of throttling/shaping near or past the 300GB mark per month? Or should I be looking at something like Afrihost's high data capped options (400-600gb)?

Are you looking for R1200 all in, or just R1200 for the account?

Sorry it's R1200 total (including line rentals)

I'm assuming Afrihost business don't shape at all, or do they apply shaping after hours?

Also according to crystalweb.co.za it says shaping after 100GB?

Our standard uncapped only applies shaping after 100 gigabytes, and only shapes large downloads, and releases it from midnight.

Our uncapped unshaped however is uncapped and unshaped. Our 10Mbps uncapped unshaped bundle sounds like what you're after. R1298 including 10Mbps line rental.

@Crystal Web that ends up just slightly out of budget (Voice line included). Could you pm me some prices on 8mb and 6mb too (depending on what the exchange will support when it's been sorted) and some of the fine print?

No 6 and 8Mb support from our side yet. There's such a tiny demand for it that we just don't see us investing in such products - there are no 6 and 8Mbps lines, so all we're doing is investing in products that technically shouldn't exist. All fine-print is here on our site - http://www.crystalweb.co.za/customeragreement.html

Talk to an agent on live chat though - your needs may just we well suited to a Fusion account, and we can customise it a bit for your requirements as well.

I must say that I hope that Crystal Web's products are better than their website. It's been a long time since I've seen a website so devoid of actual information.

It's not their website though.
They haven't even launched yet.

I can vouch for crystal... I've been with afrihost, webafrica, mweb, and openweb, and NOTHING comes close to crystalweb.

It just works! (TM)
