your frames must all be bonded to earth as the potential must be the same throughout the system .but not to your homes earth

Current always returns to source, in this case the inverter.

What would be the easiest thing to earth to?

For portable panels, I'd go with at least two 1.2m rods driven into the ground, 3 is more better. Can use a brass welders quick release for the coupling.
