Just to highlight the plight of the Rand and make it easier to understand how it affects us with regards to foreign markets and rising prices at home, here's a simple example.

4 years ago when I was working in west Africa, 100,000 African francs cost R1,500 when I drew from a bank. Today I drew 100,000 African francs and or cost me R2,300.

That's an increase of R800 for the same spending power and for me highlights how far we have fallen and how overseas companies have to adjust their prices to match their own currency.

lol but it's one of the easiest way to see where prices have gone up. iPad4 wifi was r5500 base. iPad Air wifi is r6000 base.

Nexus 10 is really not an adequate substitute for an iPad Air. It's closer to an iPad3 in terms of speed and there isn't a 3g version afaik. Nexus 7 2013 is also roughly half the speed of the iPad Mini Retina but it is a much more reasonable alternative if you are concerned about cost and just want a reader/browser. In fact the screen is even better calibrated than the iPad Mini which is pretty shameful of Apple imo.
