Hisense Q8600 Thread

I have noticed an issue with audio sync when using the native Netflix App on the Q8600. I've set my speakers audio output to ARC (Denon Receiver) with audio out to passthrough. When playing Netflix Dolby Atmos content there is a big audio delay . If I set audio output to any other format i.e. PCM or Dolby digital the delay goes away. Can anyone confirm if this fixed in the J1127 firmware?

Never had that issue on either original or J1127 firmware but my receiver doesn't support atmos so it may not have presented itself at all.

So when you play any other content without atmos support there's no delay?

It only happens with atmos content in passthough mode.

Updated to the new firmware but still experiencing the delay. I've resorted to using PCM instead.

I have the Q860065" and wow it's amazing for gaming. Specifically HDR gaming as the nits can go to 1000 - the motion blur for me is none noticeable and the latency is low enough to play COD warzone / horizon zero dawn etc ------- I believe the 55" is the same spec as the 65inch so I would go with Q8600

Would those of you who have the Q8600 and have had prior experience to a conventional LED TV, be able to gauge whether the QLED model is worth the extra R5000?

I'm in two minds as to whether I should stick with a 'normal' LED TV or go QLED, but wondering if it is worth paying ~33% more for it.

Is it worth it to YOU? As long you never have to use anything as good as the Q8600, you will be happy with the cheap TV you will get! I hope you get my point. I was happy with my Samsung KU7000 but since I used the Q8600, my next TV will be OLED. No going back!

Once you see the HDR... It's hard to go back...

Coming from a ye olde Hisense from 2010, I think anything will be a step up from what I have currently. I think that a step up to 4k and a bigger panel should be 'enough', but 33% more for the same panel size is a hard sell for me.

EDIT: Perhaps ignorance is bliss...I've been avoiding the in-store displays in case I get too tempted by them, but the one I did spot was a 58" Hisense 58A7100F and was quite impressed with it. I can imagine that the QLED is quite a step above it, but perhaps the conventional LED one will suffice for me

Hey there all,

Has anyone figured out what the setting for BFI (Black Frame Insertion) is on the Q8600?

It doesn’t seem to be Judder reduction as I’ve tested different levels of that and it looks like Judder reduction does some processing to speed up the frame rate resulting in artifacts. The H9F has BFI according to RTINGS: “This feature can be enabled by enabling the Motion Clearness setting, under the 'Advanced Settings' menu.“ Unfortunately the setting seems to be absent on the Q8600.

Is there any way we can enable BFI?

If you haven’t had QLED before you likely wont miss it. Then you can rather spend the extra money on a bigger (70-75inch) normal 4K screen instead :-)

Two totally different TVs. Anyone who tells you otherwise, ignore them.

I agree with you, my mate has the b version of my q8600 and he sees no difference but when I visit him wow do I see a difference in colour brightness etc
