Hisense Q8600 Thread

Can owners of the Q8600 please confirm if the backlight option is grayed out for you when viewing Dolby Vision content?

Or are you able to change it?

Have spoken to Hisense and trying to get them to look into this.
Hi, I can confirm this. I am on Software Version J1127 and when watching Dolby Vision content, no matter what settings I try, the backlight option is always greyed out. It would be amazing if Hisense could fix this.

Hey everyone. I'm having some trouble installing firmware J1127 and I'm wondering if anyone can help. The TV detects the firmware on the flash drive but when I hit reboot to install, it just restarts the TV and does not change anything.

Where did you get the firmware from? And what version are you on now?

Yes it's clean. Perhaps I should try redownloading or maybe a different flash drive.

Still not working. I was hoping the newer firmware fixes the audio issue I'm having on YouTube. It's not a deal-breaker but just thought I'd try the update.

Just took my new samsung 58tu7000 to my inlaws to compare to their brand new hisense 55q8600. Firstly the tu7000 is crap on hdr. Hisense is much brighter and have much better color range and contrast. All in all I had the hisense b8000 until recently and having brought this tu7000 for R7999 on special from makro has made me very unhappy. Definitely returning it tomorrow and looking for either the b800 again or the q8600.

Anyone on here ever actually tested the HDR peak brightness of the Q8600?

I've read it's 1000 cd/m. Is this true?

There hasn't been a software update since December 2019.

It's way overdue for one.
It more than likely won't get one again. My N5000 from 2017 only got one update and never again.

What is latest version. Don't think my auto update via TV has ever worked.

If i'm not mistaken, we should still be getting the vidaa version 4 update this year.

Correct.

One can see a lot of Android TV influences that they have incorporated (which isn't a bad thing).

Latest version is J1127.

However you will need to contact Hisense so they can send this to you.

Checked TV now and obviously the TV is not updating for what ever reason. Says I’m on J1114.

Even If I try update says I have latest version . Why would it have a system update option if it does not update?

Assumption is that J1127 is a beta firmware (or something similar) seeing as Hisense will provide it only if requested.
