The 120hz on the Q8600 is not a gimmick. You can play games at 1440p@120hz which is way better than 2160p@60Hz.
Peak brightness for HDR on LED LCD is one part that beats OLED, so if you can get a TV that shines (pun intended) in that department, go for it
Rating a hand picked and calibrated store display TV is ill adviced. Better to find online user reviews. LED LCD will always suffer from DSE.
Also, TVs hardly get more than one year support on software. So that should be the least consideration between TVs that have one year age difference.
Have you ever played a game at 120hz on the q8600 or sent any 120hz signal to it? If so please upload a picture as from my experience, I was never able to send any 120hz signal to it.
High peak brightness not does not mean better HDR. Q8600 vs Oled in HDR side by side, its no contest. But an Oled vs a Q90R/Q80R/Q90T thats a different story. Contrast and local dimming control (for backlight TV's) is a hugh factor. The room you watch tv in plays the biggest role to this. If you watch movies at midday with you windows open then a bright TV is the way to go.
Lol the Hisense tv's at Hirsch are not hand picked nor are they calibrated. All TV's have DSE but it has to be within an acceptable range for the consumer. The DSE on the Q8600 is very bad which is not acceptable IMO. Just open the Youtube app and see the loading/splash screen.
I dont know which TV you have that only has 1 year support but LG and Samsung support their TV's for 2 years. Hisense may be different but I really doubt it. Its also about hardware/panel improvements that make the newer models more attractive.
