HiSense TV's - Yay or Nay

Hi all.

I have seen many places selling HiSense TV's lately and just want to know what your experience with them are and if they are any good? Would be looking at between 46"-50" 3D one if the feedback is good...
 
Different strokes for different folks. I suppose choosing one will depend on what you'll use it for. Does you media come from the interwebs, and with all sorts of funny codecs? Or will you be using it strictly for DSTV/Blu Ray?
 
but these hisense tv's arent that cheap anymore. i was shocked when i saw there prices. might as well save a bit more and buy lg or sumsung, etc.
 
It appears that HiSense are on a big push to become a "premium" brand, they're rolling out appliances, etc. as much the same price as the established players. Quality and reliability may not be so easy to quantify right now, but there are definite impovements to a couple of years ago.

I have just recieved my LG 42LM5800 and love it. My only problem, is when I watch movies ect which is connected via HDMI or even sometimes normal DSTV, the speakers have rattling sound which is very annyoing - especially when there is a little bass, music in the background ect. This happened even when the TV's sound is very low. Not sure if this is a common problem ect or if there is anything I can do to fix it. The TV is just under a week old so can still take it back if I have to. Was only asking about HiSense as this is the second LG 42" tv (the other one had something wrong with the inards and couldnt be repaired). My budget is only R7000 which is why I was looking at the HiSe

I have a HP server setup running Plex where 95% of my media comes from, the rest is Blu Ray player and DSTV (only for the sports).
 
Hisense is a little unknown to our market and buyers; also I do not think that we have high-range Hisense products here in SA. This is one big company in China and owns several niche, high-end and quality brands also, there overall TV reviews is good which they sell under their own label, however we do not have those models here. Another need to know thing is that Hisense is also an OEM brand. They have been regarded as best service, well not in SA…

Even though this may be a good brand internationally, it is not on par in SA, so my answer is NAY.

It is nearly like buying Thomson in SA, when they are only good in Europe.
