On Friday I was involved in a hit and run accident. Went to the police and the officer actually asked me: "what do you want us to do?", I told her that I would like to open a case and she replied that I would have to wait for night shift, but could not telll me when Night shift would come in. After calling the Lt. Col. who directed me to the Captain an accident report was filed, yet no hit and run case was registered.
Is there anyone that can assist me to get the details of the following registration number (HCN460FS)? The car is a white Polo Vivo.

youve reported it .you have a case number ,youre in the clear ,he hasnt reported it maybe ,then hes not in the clear ,the SAP will contact him if a docket has been opened .the rest is in youre insurers hands not yours .

If I read his post properly it means no case was registered, so he doesn't have a case number?

The OP clearly says

an accident report was filed

That is how a case number is [automatically] generated.

(But OP wants a criminal case to be opened, in addition to the accident report.)

He may not have a case number since no case was opened, but he will have an Accident Report number. Like @B-1 says, report to your insurance and move on. Very seldom do SAPS actually follow up on hit and run incidents if there are no injuries or fatalities. Expecting SAPS to do any form of work is really setting the bar very high.

OP, you already got away clean with the hit-and-run you caused.

Let this go.
Just let this go.

If you pursue this matter and end up finding the victim and confessing to them, it could ruin you.

So forgive yourself and move on.

And swear to yourself that you will in future drive much more carefully.

Starting NOW!

This idiot could have killed me and others, so excuse me for not just wanting my car fixed...
This guy is going to kill someone very soon and hopefully it will not be a relative of one of us.

So what are you going to do, track him down, go to his house and confront him?

Understand your anger, but I'm not clear on your strategy.

This is MyBB.

Here you are 10% liable cause you should have driven/walked/acted more defensively.

Then secondly this is South Efrica...even if the perp kills, he will walk freely shortly.

Let it go
