Hlophe abandons application to stop Ramaphosa from suspending him | The Citizen
Hlophe had also filed a review application in a bid to force Parliament to halt its impeachment process.www.citizen.co.za
Hlophe – in part B of his application – wants to have the high court set aside the tribunal’s findings.
He also wants the high court to rule that the JSC meeting – in which the majority voted that he should be impeached – be declared unlawful as the commission “failed to perform its constitutional obligations”.

Western Cape Judge President John Hlophe will know his fate in the matter against the Judicial Services Commission (JSC) within 10 days.
Gauteng deputy Judge President Aubrey Ledwaba on Monday said the judgment in the matter should be finalised without further delay.
Judge President Ledwaba heard arguments between Judge Hlophe’s counsel, Lihle Sidaki, and Max du Plessis who represented Freedom Under Law (FUL).
The application heard in the hearings included an application to intervene by FUL and the Rule 30 application filed by Judge President John Hlophe which seeks to set aside the replying affidavit filed by FUL.
Hlophe hit back at the JSC tribunal and further claimed that its findings may have been influenced by retired Constitutional Court Justice Johann Kriegler, who is also the FUL’s chairperson.
Another setback for Hlophe:

High Court admits Freedom Under Law into Hlophe gross misconduct case | News24
The Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg has ruled that Freedom Under Law can be joined as a party in Judge John Hlophe's bid to overturn the impeachable gross misconduct finding made against him.www.news24.com
-It may be judge president John Hlophe today, but tomorrow it could be another judge.
So said Thabani Masuku SC in court on Monday, arguing why the court should set aside the Judicial Service Commission’s (JSC) decision that Hlophe committed gross misconduct.
The JSC in August referred Hlophe to parliament for possible impeachment. Its decision related to a 2008 complaint by all the then justices of the Constitutional Court that Hlophe had sought to improperly influence the outcome of cases then pending before their court related to corruption charges against former president Jacob Zuma.
The complaint followed two separate visits to the Constitutional Court — one to justice Chris Jafta, then acting at the highest court, and one later to justice Bess Nkabinde.
