Holiday Recommendation (Bucket list)

Hey Guys

So I have traveled a bit the last few years and the Wife & I would like to plan 1 last big vacation before we start planning for kids. I can honestly say there is not one country I have not enjoyed but would like to go somewhere I have never been / attend an event. County's I have visited - UK, France, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Iceland, Thailand, Malawi.

My current top 3 considerations are:

Japan (Attend summer Olympics)
Germany (Berlin Marathon & October Fest)
New York


The only real issue is the time of the year which is limited to the beginning of August (can use 6 days), end of September (can use 6 days) or December (basically unlimited leave).

Any other recommendations ?

Seeing that you havent been in North America, do New York for a few days and few other spots in the USA (loads to see). Or you can even consider New York, plus Canda / South America
 
The world is a big place, I reckon only you can answer this, we'll just tell you about the places we've been to.
What I would say is, maybe try a place/ event you might not go to with kids.
 
From your 3 choices, I would do Japan. Lots of culture, history, food and nature. Tokyo and Osaka would be my go to cities there.
 
Go for Japan. Ideal would have been Cherry Blossom time (which i think is April), but even without that, still a good one simply because the way they do things (always mindful of others, punctual, attention to detail) is something you wont find matched anywhere else
 
Bar crawl on Bangla road in Phuket, Thailand is the last thing I checked off on my to do list, would definitely recommend Thailand to anyone, it is a very awesome destination in my opinion

Oktober Beer Fest in Germany
and no it isn't in October as i discovered when i was there 2 or 3 years ago

seen as you and the wife are planning on having kids next year you will never in your life ever get another chance to party like this again :)
 
Went to Thailand for Honeymoon and it was amazing, favourite destination so far. Would definitely go there again but it is relatively cheap and there are some great family resorts so would much rather go again with kids. (Definitely not going to take my kids to Japan or New York unless I win the lotto)
 
surely Brazil, for the Brazilian carnival, not for kids and probably not for a couple too :ROFL: :ROFL:

Ja South America also seems like a good option. Want to see Brazil, Argentina, Peru and Chile however not sure if the Zika Virus is still in the mix

Was in South America for 3 weeks in December (Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay & Paraguay)...no zika virus
