I accidentally deleted my CD-ROM drive! Moments before that I decided to delete my Recycle Bin as I didn't think that I would be needing it anymore, so I can't restore it ! To make matters worse, at that very moment, a virus deleted my PS2 and USB ports from Device Manager, so I don't have a keyboard or mouse. On top of that, my brother deleted the Start button off the Taskbar last week. I'm using Windows XP, so there is now just a blue bar, with no green button.

I forgot to add: There is absolutely no possible way to format the hard drive as it's not an NTFS, FAT16 or FAT 32 drive. You see, I wrote my own filing system (called MOGG) in HTML, but I forgot one thing...to write a "Format" program.

...Can anyone help ?

Yeah. Take it to the garage, put on the desk, go get the 10 pound hammer... :D

I love that quote. Someone has it as a signature hereabouts.

Or how about some Microsoft quality advice: Re-install Windows. Be sure to use the latest, most expensive (licensed) version.

Yeah, my cousin had to evacuate his house a few days ago...

He deleted his Recycle Bin off his desktop. A few moments later, he deleted a document, but to his suprise, something awful happened. Because the document had no where to go, his hard-drive imploded creating a rip in the time-space continuum. There is now a 27 by 27 meter black hole growing by 1 meter a day and getting faster. They claim the Earth will be sucked into itself by 2013 and eventually the universe by 2097.

Scary stuff I tell you.

This is going to sound like a joke but it is not, it is true. I formatted my data hdd last night in doing a fresh install of xp

@Pearl Jam, It's called: Ontrack Easy Recovery Pro it cost a bit of moola, but there's no such thing as totally lost data . . . .

PearlJam - Doobiwan is right Ontrack Easy Recovery Pro really is the ****, I use it all the time to recover clients data. It will easy recover the data from the sectors that you have not yet copied over. and as for it being expensive... PM me and I'll give you a username and password to get it off my FTPsite.
Lord_spaceman - take your harddrive out and install it again upside down that way when you start windows again it will run backwards and undo all your problems :D

Holy crap, Rainy's resuscitated a thread from 2006! You've gone and jumpstarted the black hole again! Quick, call up CNA and tell them we need 65,536L of Tipp-Ex in a hurry!
