It depends on the wire length that you use and any possible attenuation.

 
Would need some proper soldering done as well and I can’t find the bloody tips of mine.

I had a 1m length cable (running next to power) and had issues with attenuation. Needed to mod as per the video then it worked fine.
But I would avoid the ballachce where i can.
 
So both my garage door controllers somehow decided that they do not want to work with their RF remotes anymore. First the 1 then later the other. Usually resyncing a new remote is fine, but they both refuse now.

So added in a Sonoff SV, which is even powered off the garage controller's 24v and I can now once again open/close the door, just now using the phone. Next up will add in a reed-switch that I will also connect to the SV, then I will be able to see the door status in Openhab as well. Fairly happy with this setup for, until I am forced to replace the garage controllers, but for now they can open/close the doors so it can wait till later.

Controller looks exactly like that. The motor kinda too, just all black.

I couldn't find any documentation on it, but when I opened the cover, there were 3 pins to the button it uses, and then another 3 pins open stating wireless receiver or something, tested when I short 2 of them, its the same as the button.

Then on the side, it has connection for what I believe is a beam set you can add on, I just used that for my power.
 
I just got opengarage which was quick and easy, but this would work too for pretty much any garage door.
Open garage just gives the advantage knowing if the car is inside. I still have not found a use for that though.

There was a reason why I didn't use that one, and rather used the Sonoff SV...cant remember why, but it was some reason combined with Tasmota.
With Tasmota you can also do the 1 second pulse on any of the Sonoffs. So no special need for the inching one.

Oh also the pulse is not limited to 1 second on Tasmota, you can set it to anything from 1/10th of a second to 99 seconds I think.

Correct, if one second is insufficient. But you must load Tasmota.

What do you mean with any one? I have a few basics doing nothing.

A big concern I have is burning the lock out - I've done that once by accidentally setting existing controller to 5s - R1400 later for a new lock.

Realised I can also redo my garage - its currently controlled via a Paradox PGM - but for some reason it randomly opens if the Paradox looses network connection with HA, think it has something to do with the MQTT subscription
