@spiff did you ever come right with your friend's iPhone? I have someone experiencing a similar issue on a few (but not all) Sonoff products.
 
I'm looking for some advice on a level switch or something similar, not sure if this has been discussed before. I have a pump connected to a Sonoff switch running on a schedule to pump water from a well to a Jojo tank which I then use for irrigation. What can I install to switch off the pump when the water gets at a certain level? I already have a pressure switch installed which switches it off if it runs dry, but then I end up with having to prime the pump before using it again.

Any suggestions?

I am also looking into something similar, but I want to start different. Instead of a level switch, I want to actually know how full, or how empty my water tanks are. So to do that, you need a sensor that send a sound and calculate the time it takes to return.

There are far cheaper ways to do this, but I am looking at this sensor:

Then I would connect that up to an arduino which I will connect to (to be built yet) a RFM69 radio network of sensors. This means I need to build it myself, but I will end up being able to see exactly how much waster is in the tank, and even graph how the level change with time. From this then I can do whatever I want, build triggers that do stuff based on the water level in the tanks.

I am sure this could work for you as well, because once you are able to tell the level vs just full or not full, you can do things programatically. Completely depends on if you want to go that far or not.

I'm just gonna use 4 float switches - overfull, 3/4, 1/2, 1/4
 
You could also use a ball float like those found in a cistern, this on a rod and then mounted on a variable resistor. You would need an A/D converter for the reading which I think the Arduino has. It could have potential moisture issues after a year or 2 though.
 
You could use a drop-in pressure sensor on a GSM Commander, accurate but maybe a little pricey.

then look at the GC0641 to run it. That unit has multiple functionality that can tie a lot of kit together eg switch your pump when level reaches x, alert you by SMS/missed call if level reaches y, set your pump to a timer etc etc

Can it be used in my pool filter and cut off pump when filter gets clogged?
 
Finally figured out how to access the EZVIZ cameras directly without the NVR or the EZVIZ app. Figure I might be able to access them in Home Assistant and eventually run tensorflow on them.
