I have been using the Shelley 1 pm for this.

Benefits over the sonoff

1) still have manual switch control which is what you need when backwashing etc
2) power consumption monitor.

You can still manually switch in on at anytime using the APP. Don't need to wait for the schedule to kick in

Mine doesn't have one of those smart controllers, just a timer and no way I can see to set a cutoff temperature.
Perhaps there is something on the geyser but that's on my roof.

On hot days with the switch on, the water ridiculously hot.

Manually with app control is pia. There a few second lag which annoys me.

With the Shelley you can manual control with a switch which makes a huge difference for the pump.

The pool light is on full automatic

Its different for everyone. But in my use case when I was manually turning it off, it just made up for the heat loss the next time it was turned on, so yes there would be a tiny saving but not worth my while. I think things would be pretty different if my geyser was outside.

Hmm I have no idea.

I see the Tapatalk signatures are off by default so that doesn’t help.

You have kids? Probably just handled your phone.

Maybe you have an old geyser *shrug*

Your loss shouldn't be such that it needs to fully reheat the geyser when you turn it in on again . It'll go from (for example) 60 degrees to 50 degrees, so it's really only heating the difference.

But possible not worth it based your geyser :)

I have a Sonoff Pow hooked up to my pool, they do have a on off button (so do the Basics), and the Pow monitors power too.

That said, I've just ordered some new Sonoff Basic R3's that have that "DIY" mode so you can call the REST API over local lan instead of using the eWeLink app which has become a nightmare in the last few months.
 
Not sure if its news, but see that Sonoff released a Zigbee version of the basic
