Which weather service do you use and what is your yaml. I'm using OpenWeather and it gives me the current temp for the next 5 days. Not the high for the day and the next 5 days. So if I look at the temp at 8 in the evening, it tells me what the temp will be at 8 pm for the next 5 days.

I believe that Apple have bought the company and will no longer except new signups.

Thanks I see there are actually variations in the mdi collection for open and closed so it’s odd they don’t use them by default.

Can likely just use the above with those icons.

Where does that code snippet live? In the Lovelace group?

I use the same. Pity, I found DarkSky to be quite good for my area, even though you can't even download the app in the iOS store (not released for South Africa).

OpenWeatherMap has always been a bit of a disaster for me. Weather Underground was not bad but they also stopped their free APIs/developer program a year or so ago.

Installed a second flood light and changed to the Sonoff Dual from @SmartKit - struggled with fitment and broke the live in off the board, what a ****ing mission.

Also... ladder said cheers while I was up there adjusting the flood light last night, fortunately a soft landing amid my wife's shrieks.

I can understand the the sonoff breaking,but have no words for the ladder.Did you perhaps walk under the ladder?Anyway glad all ends well.

Oddly enough, my wife did last weekend and I told her it's bad luck... Just didn't know it was for me.

Plan on repairing said ladder... Either with a metal plate and rivets... or duct tape.

Call the manufacturer of the ladder and send a pic. They will repair it. They will also want to learn why it failed.

I had a similar problem and the manufacturer fixed it for free.

Wonder ladder. It's about 15 years old. We've had a love hate relationship - and its suffered years of abuse.

Also have the same ladder, about 3 years old. The other day one of the steps teared off while I was standing on it. Luckily only the 3rd step and not at the top.

Goodness, I also have one and it's about 10 years old now. One of the little "locks" when you open it up doesn't quite click in easily as it did, but can still get it to lock, otherwise been treating me quite good.

Had a guy doing quotes for roof repairs the other day here, he came with a weird collapsible latter. Thing collapsed while he was getting on the roof and he fell from about half-way and hit his back quite hard. Wish I knew what brand it was to avoid it!

I have the same ladder. Purchased in 2006.
Manufacturer fixed it two years ago.

I’m going to attempt to tape it to a ball and simply sling it.

Failing that I have one of those metal wire feeders that should work but it also means taking that up there with me and fiddling with it while balance precariously. Not fun.

Ok so I have already been in there once a month ago to put in temporary network cable, but it doesn't go where the new on has to go.

So plan is, to do all of them in one go now.
Bought 6x 25m and 2x 50m cat6.
Most utp shielded and some stp shielded.

So planning on using the old temp cat5 to get them from one side to the other and pull some through into the lounge.

Only started the planning so far.

This is where I am at now.
Tested them to be working 1st.
Then marked and wrapped into masking tape together.

Next step, prepare myself mentally then go up to start pulling hoping for the best. There 2 firewalls and 3 manholes I have to get in to worst case scenario.

Yeah if I was willing to sacrifice the existing cable that was there I would have use that to pull it through.

Anyway felt inspired last night and quickly opened both manhole covers and then the throwing option as expected didn’t work.

So I ended up taking it myself from one end to the other not nearly as nearly as I normally would and then left the tools up there and closed both sides and left the AP in the roof.

Will install it properly some time in the week or this coming weekend.

That's the wife's garage. Also the server/nas stuff go there. My garage is a separate building at the back...without a tile floor

But seeing all that network cable, reminds me I have 3 runs coiled up in the ceiling waiting for me to do the drops into the right rooms with jackpoints and all that... Should probably get my A into G and do it when I'm rewiring the whole house as well..

One thing (of the myriad projects I have on the list) that I did this weekend was redo the whole pool pump stuff, so its now in a nice IP65 DB Board enclosure, and everything is wired and mounted nicely(ish).... I had set everything up so the Pump was 1 basic, and the Light a different one... and I even labeled them and still managed to screw it up and install them the wrong way round. So colour me surprised that HA happily just fixed everything when I fixed the naming in Tasmota...

I have a slab roof makes any new cable drops a nightmare.

I installed a sonoff SV onto the gate but low and behold no WiFi signal there.

I need to run a cable to the from gate approximately 80m long, a ton of trenching and need to lift a section of paving. Have been putting it off for forever.

Update on home assistant:

Garage going fine
Sorted out the Unifi controller now works through homesassistant
Managed to get my mi bedside lamps integrated.

Next is shellies and sonoffs, thinking of flashing tasmota and got this doodad to do it.

Busy fixing my electric fence ATM as well , the pros wanted 4000 let's see if I can do it for R500 excl my own labour ofcourse.

Can't you just get a wifi AP closer to the gate?

I also have a flat roof minimal to no space up there... literally finished this weekend running two cat5 cables along the cornice, and down in the corner to connect fibre to the rest of the house.

Finished painting yesterday - barely noticable now.
