I put it in pairing mode (tried both pairing modes)

It sees and connects to my network but remains offline.

I've removed and added this device many times now.

Any suggestions?

You will get many different opinions on this. The simplest is probably a Sonoff SV connected to the controller inputs of the door.
Personally I wanted more flexibility so I went with an ESP8266 and wrote my own custom firmware for it.

Do you need a reed switch / sensor for this?
 
Smartkit live chat doesn't work and neither does the phone number.

I want to add to my paid order before it ships out

Fortunately Amazon offers the same level of control or I'd be ripping a lot of sonoff devices out of the walls.

For support services who need to deal with Oom Jannie en Tannie Sannie I’m sure it’s life changing.

For a prosumer probably not so much.

It is how the best of the word has worked for decades now, so about time we caught on.
 
 
i am new to home assistant and am finding it an interesting but steep learning curve. I have integrated a number of sonoff switches with the AlexxIT sonoff control on github. I have set up some automations to switch on the switches at certain times of the day and everything works.

Now that loadshedding is back, sometimes the automations do not work as power is off at the sonoff switch at the due automation time.

Any idea how I can set up an automation to see if the sonoff is powered between certain times and if it is not, to turn the switch on when power is restored?
