Btw smart lights refer to the wifi bulbs from qualitel at R99. Ordered more as they work in google home via smartlife app.

So no neutral required.



The light switches I'll install next week but have neutral wires. And if I didn't have neutral wires, I'd install it for the convenience of smart lights
 
Any motion detectors that can be linked to smart life app or google home? Preferably Smart Life app.

Thanks, knew Connex had motion detectors but thought Connex was a proprietary app.

Will buy one and test it out.

Yeah saw that but I only wanted a cheap IR blaster to program TV + Sound bar via Home Assistant automations and found Connex does the trick for the price. Saw in the manual it they use Smart Life app hence the post.

Broadlink RM4C Mini I had before, gave problems learning codes and other units are tad out of my price range.

I use Google Home as my overall hub. But its not a real hub.

So for scenes/routines I want to trigger my qualitel wifi lights via smart life app with a compatible smart life or tuya motion sensor. Once routine/scene set google home can then be used to control devices.

Google home not a real hub so poor at smart routines/scenes.

PS last time xiaomi link to google home was broken. Not sure if fixed. @johnjm

Don't see why not... I'm using a SV on my Cisa lock.

Aaah sorry, if you already using eWelink then stick to Sonoff. Shelly has their own app. I run HassIO so normally look more for local-only options.

Just remember those fail safe bolt locks open when the power fails, so you'll need battery back up on it to prevent that. And also hide the cabling properly to prevent it from being cut which will also open the lock.

Otherwise you can get them in fail secure, they stay locked when powered down. Think they might be more expensive the other way around though.

Bit of a catch-22 situation with our crime and power situation.

Got whole house inverter so should be fine. Can also link to gate motor to use its battery as backup.

But cabling may be issue as pedestrian gate inside my car entrance gate. So cables would need to move. So probably not feasible.

Any battery operated wifi locks on the market?

Havent seen one. The hotel door ones use cards as keys.
